Lake Tahoe, Cailf. -- The sunny Summer months on the shores of Lake Tahoe bring visitors from all around the world who are looking for a good time. Those months are also the busiest for the Southwestern themed restaurant, Caliente!, located at the east end of Kings Beach. Boaters, hikers, bikers, beach goers, river rafters, locals, and tourists alike enjoy sipping on handcrafted margaritas, cold draft beer, and Caliente’s legendary frozen signature drink “The Chupacabra”. The rooftop palapa bar makes diners feel as if they are on a tropical vacation and the delicious Mexican and Southwestern cuisine couldn’t taste better after a long day in the sun.
General Manager, Tim Honeycutt, is making sure that the Palapa Bar is in top shape for these coming month’s so that guests can enjoy themselves to the fullest. The Southwestern restaurant unofficially opened their rooftop palapa bar for the first time this season during their Cinco de Mayo fiesta. The fiesta festivities included the 7th Annual Chihuahua Races, the popular tortilla toss, and a pink taco eating contest. Entire families came out and there were events for everyone – including a piñata for the kids. For the official opening of the Rooftop Palapa Bar, Caliente will hold their “Party Under the Palapa” deck opening party on June 26th after being shut down for the cold Winter months.
Caliente works hard to provide a fun atmosphere with their summer promotions such as Chupacabra Thursday’s which runs every Thursday, all night, all summer. People love the legendary signature cocktail at Caliente “The Chupacabra” which is the frozen Tequila drink pictured in the photo above, but be warned… these alcoholic drinks are part of a signature drink collection known as the “Stiffest Drinks in Tahoe and Truckee”, along with Gar Woods signature drink “The Wet Woody” and Bar of America’s Signature drink “The Cock-Tail”.
Carnelian Bay, California (February 4, 2014) – Tahoe Restaurant Collection (Gar Woods, Riva Grill, Caliente and Bar of America) is expanding its marketing presence and scope in Lake Tahoe and Truckee with the addition of Kimberly Moore to the management team. A native of Tahoe City, a veteran employee of Gar Woods spanning seven summers, and a graduate of North Tahoe High, Kimberly is no stranger to the area or the hospitality business. She will serve as Director of Marketing on the North Shore after earning her Bachelor of Science in Marketing at the University of Arizona and working in the field for two years with Sony DADC and Capital Fund 1 in Arizona. She looks forward to applying her experience, knowledge of the industry, and love of Lake Tahoe to her new position, and enhancing community awareness of the restaurant group’s activities.
“Kimberly is perfectly suited for this new position. As our company continues to grow, we want to make sure we are communicating with and listening to our customers, and maintaining our presence in the community. Kimberly is a great fit and we are thrilled to have her back working with us”, said Amy Grigsby, Group Sales Manager at Gar Woods.
Kimberly will bring a fresh perspective to Tahoe Restaurant Collection’s marketing efforts, with a focus on social media campaigns, face-to-face networking in the community and in-house special event promotions. She is thrilled to be home, closer to family, the mountains and lake, and is anxious to dive into her new role.
